  1. Does anyone else think that San Francisco’s Tim Lincecum was just extremely hungover last All-Star game, hence his no-show? I can picture all the old timers taking him out and getting him shit-faced drunk…
  2. Can everyone please swing at some more first pitches? I don’t think this game is moving quick enough. Okay, enough sarcasm.
  3. Lincecum’s struggles in the first inning weren’t too big a surprise, but Halladay’s in the second certainly were.
  4. From Harold Reynold’s Attention Deficit Disorder pre-game interviews and hype, you had to know that San Diego’s Heath Bell was going to be the guy to blow the game. All the commentators were mentioning how excited and nervous he was to be there.
  5. Do you think Boston’s Jonathan Papelbon wishes Tampa Bay’s Carl Crawford was one of his outfielders after that grab? Philly’s Jayson Werth ain’t so shabby himself.
  6. Is there a more pesky or annoying batter in the game than Boston’s Kevin Youkilis? The guy’s an on-base machine.
  7. K-Rod looked absolutely filthy.
  8. How much of a legacy is Mariano Rivera going to leave on this game? 500 saves? Check. Most All-Star game saves? Check. Eight scoreless innings against the game’s best hitters? Check. Wow.
  9. Poor Tim Wakefield. He was selected to his first All-Star game at age 42 and didn’t even get to pitch.
  10. Boooooooooooooooooooooring and predictable. By swinging at almost every first pitch, the National League looked like they mailed it in during the third inning. The American League didn’t do much either, but from the starting lineups, you had to know they were going to win. The A.L. is just stacked with tremendous hitters.
